About Us

The Collaborative provides events in the Philadelphia area for 20 and 30 something Jewish couples and singles, professionals, artists, and graduate students--and everything in between. We are a non-for-profit organization affiliated with the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Philadelphia.

OUR STAFF

Ross Berkowitz is the Director of the Collaborative. Check out his picture so that you will recognize him at events, and know that this truly is THE Ross (as many say upon first meeting.) Ross proudly describes himself as a Professional Jew and informal Jewish educator with many years of experience in the field, having previously worked for Hillel, Habonim Dror, The Jewish Agency for Israel, The New Israel Fund & Jewish Federation. Make sure to accept an invitation to one of the many Collaborative events in Ross’ home in order to see the director in his natural habitat.

The Assistant Director, Yael Levin, brings a female perspective to the Collaborative. After working in Vienna, Austria for the Joint Distribution Committee, she has returned to her native Philly to work with Ross and haunt coffee shops. If you ask her, Yael is more than happy to recount her adventures (sometimes wild) of Yom Kippur in New Zealand, Purim in Israel, and Passover in India. Be sure to talk to her at one of the Collaborative's many events about the ins and outs of Philly.
